In February of 2022, Consumer Cellular announced the opening of a new customer service call center in Oklahoma City. This new facility would staff 300 employees to help support the wireless provider’s customer base of over four million subscribers nationwide.
Clifford Power provided the backup generator system for this three-story, 80,000-square-foot facility in partnership with the installing contractor, Delco Electric. The call center required a 1,000-kilowatt generator to run the building loads in the event of a power outage. Clifford Power generator sales representative, Rocky Hollingsworth, suggested a Generac Modular Power System (MPS) to meet the power needs. With this MPS generator package, two paralleled 500-kilowatt generators could be used to meet the 1,000-kilowatt demand, while also providing benefits of cost savings, power redundancy, and scalability for future growth.
Senior estimator at Delco Electric, Jed Riley, managed the turn-key installation of the generator project for Consumer Cellular. Jed says, “as always, the Oklahoma City Clifford team is great to work with.” Clifford Power provided the emergency power equipment including the MPS generator system and service entrance-rated automatic transfer switch. Throughout the purchasing process, a dedicated project manager assisted Delco Electric by providing equipment submittals, expected shipping dates, and coordination of multiple deliveries. When the installation of the generator system was complete, Clifford Power performed the equipment start-up and owner training to conclude the project.
