As part of a major supply chain initiative, Walmart opened its first-ever owned and operated, case-ready beef processing facility in Olathe, Kansas. This 300,000+ square-foot, state-of-the-art plant, known as the Sandhills Project, plays a key role in packaging and distributing high-quality Angus beef cuts to Walmart stores throughout the Midwest.
To ensure operational continuity at this high-output facility, Clifford Power provided a 2,000 kW Generac Industrial Energy diesel generator, designed to keep critical systems powered during utility outages. The generator is housed in a Level 2 sound-attenuated enclosure and equipped with a 4,250-gallon fuel tank to provide a 24-hour runtime at full load. This generator solution delivers robust, reliable backup power for uninterrupted food processing and distribution.
In addition to the generator, Clifford Power supplied a 3,000-amp dual-purpose docking station, allowing for a quick and safe connection to temporary power if ever needed, and load bank connection points for generator testing.
This project came to Clifford Power through a public bid solicitation. We were honored to work alongside Barts Electric, a valued electrical contractor partner who trusted us to deliver on performance, project timelines and support throughout the process.
“The service you provided at Sandhills was exceptional. The generator ship date moved up a few months earlier which I have never experienced. Andrew [Generator Technician] was very quick to respond and answer any questions I had about commissioning, servicing, or coordination. You guys did a great job for Bart’s and the owner at Sandhills.” — Matt Burleson, Barts Electric
