Powering One of the Largest Soybean Facilities in the Midwest
Bartlett, a Savage Company, recently completed construction of its state-of-the-art soybean processing plant in Cherryvale, Kansas. Designed to process up to 49 million bushels of soybeans annually, the plant supports the production of sustainable soy feedstocks for refined vegetable oil, animal feed, and renewable transportation fuels.
To support the plant’s operations, Bartlett needed a backup power solution that could meet the demands of such a large-scale, high-throughput environment.
The Power Solution
Clifford Power provided a 1,000 kW (1 megawatt) natural gas Generac Industrial Energy generator to serve as the facility’s backup power source to run critical operations in the event of a power outage.
Project Scope and Collaboration
Clifford Power acquired the project through a public procurement bid specification opportunity and sold the generator directly to Savage Company. Throughout the design and submittal process, we worked closely with the engineering firm, Burns & McDonnell, to ensure all requirements were met — from compliance with design codes to the inclusion of site-specific equipment features necessary to support critical operations of the plant.
Powering Progress in Southeast Kansas
This project highlights Clifford Power’s commitment to powering critical infrastructure and large-scale industrial facilities. We are proud to support Bartlett’s investment in renewable agriculture and energy solutions, and to play a role in helping the Cherryvale plant power through any potential utility outages.
